The Claim Jumper Restaurant is far ahead of it's so called competition, ie: Black Angus, Outback Steakhouse, etc., in food quality, service and atmosphere. The service is friendly and helpful without being obsequious or pushy. The food is well prepared and comes in generous portions. In fact the portions are so large that you are left with two choices, you can either take home a lot of leftovers or if you are with someone you can split a meal. If you split a meal you will both leave feeling full and the cost of your meal becomes obescenely inexpensive. I prefer beef and my wife usually prefers seafood so we do not get to do this, however, a food server advised us that splitting a dinner is a fairly common practice here.

The beef here is always very good. The prime rib is tender and juicy, the ribeye steak is as good as is found in many "fine dining" establishments and the porterhouse steak is huge (24 ounces) and tasty. Other dishes that we have tried such as the roast turkey, the pot roast and various seafood preparations are all excellent.

The deserts are also excellent. Their six layer chocolate motherload cake is delicious and a slice is so large that you will end up having dessert at home for several days.

The main thing that I do not like is that they only accept reservations for groups of eight or more and since this place is so popular there can be a long wait for a seating. My wife and I hate waiting, therefore we do not dine here that often.

Note: This is a fairly casual restaurant so do not expect a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Most of the patrons are having too much fun to be quiet.
